Communication Sciences and Disorders

We offer a unique educational opportunity for students committed to a career as speech-language pathologists.

Dr. Jacqueline Laures-Gore

Associate Professor, Coordinator of Communication Sciences and Disorders Program

The Communication Sciences and Disorders Program at Georgia State offers a unique educational opportunity for students committed to a career as speech-language pathologists.

Our program, which has been educating students and serving the Atlanta community for over 35 years, is dedicated to excellence in academics, research, and clinical education.

Our students are provided with unique experiences that prepare them to address the needs of urban residents   from various backgrounds.

Our field is one of study that focuses on normal and disordered communication processes (including speech, cognition, language and hearing), as well as swallowing processes.

Students who receive a master’s degree in communication sciences and disorders typically become speech-language pathologists.
